Nero Expands Executive Team with COO, EVP and SVP Appointments

Seasoned Industry Executives Assume New Roles; Lead Company into Next Phase of Growth

Karlsbad, Germany (Jan. 26, 2009) -- Nero, creators of liquid media technology, announced today the promotion of Jürgen Kurz to chief operating officer (COO); Kris Barton to executive vice president (EVP) of Global Products; and Narine Galstian to senior vice president (SVP) of Marketing. The company also announced the expansion of its executive management team with the appointment of Hyder Rabbani as SVP of Worldwide OEM Sales.

Jürgen Kurz, COO, Nero AG

As COO, Jürgen Kurz is responsible for managing Nero's worldwide products, Research & Development, Quality Management, Customer Support and IT organizations. Previously, Kurz served as senior vice president of Business Line PC and Consumer Electronics for Nero. During his tenure he oversaw worldwide product management and development of the company's award-winning digital media suite.

Prior to his time with Nero, Kurz spent more than 11 years at Quark Inc., where he served as senior vice president of Worldwide Products. Kurz also spent five years in the German publishing industry pioneering print, Web and multimedia products for multiple German publishing companies

Kris Barton, EVP, Global Products, Nero AG

The recently named EVP of Global Products for Nero, Kris Barton, is charged with the global product development for all Nero products. In this new role, Barton oversees product management, engineering, quality assurance and overall product strategy. Most recently, Barton served as senior vice president of the Business Line Online group for Nero, where he managed worldwide online initiatives for the online community, Web services and general Web development.

Barton brings more than a decade of technology industry experience to the position. Previously, Barton held senior roles at several industry-leading software and Web companies, including Microsoft and Novell.

Narine Galstian, SVP, Marketing, Nero AG

Newly appointed SVP of Marketing for Nero, Narine Galstian, is responsible for worldwide marketing, public relations and events. Galstian handles corporate brand development and global brand awareness, product marketing for all Nero product lines and internal and external corporate communications for Nero worldwide. She joined Nero over five years ago as director of marketing for the Americas and brings more than 15 years of marketing experience to the position.

Galstian's experience spans diverse sectors including technology, apparel, real estate, consumer goods and services. Prior to Nero, she served as vice president of Marketing at a full-service advertising agency, during which she expanded the service offerings, increased revenue and managed diverse accounts. Galstian's results-driven approach to marketing initiatives was also leveraged during her tenures in management at Shuwa Investments and the California Market Center.

Hyder Rabbani, SVP, Worldwide OEM Sales, Nero AG

With more than 20 years of leadership experience in the technology industry, Hyder Rabbani joins the Nero team as the SVP of Worldwide OEM Sales. In this newly created position, Rabbani will oversee all worldwide OEM sales efforts, including the centralization of the regional OEM sales teams. Hyder brings extensive OEM sales knowledge to this position, having built and led successful teams at Intel, Musicmatch, Archos, Brickfish and DivX.
