Setting up cable box

In this tutorial you can follow the step by step procedure for configuring a cable box as TV source for Nero LiquidTV™.

This is just an example way to proceed. The detailed configurations depend on your provider and your requirements.

The following requirements have to be fulfilled:

• You have started the Nero LiquidTV™ Guided Setup

• You have passed the first basic steps

To allocate a cable box as TV source and to check the connection of this TV source, proceed as follows:

1. Select the Cable box option in the Select TV Source screen.
• The Hook up Cable Box screen is displayed.
2. Select Yes, I see video in the window if you can see the video.
• The Is your cable box digital screen is displayed.
3. Select Yes if you use a digital cable box.
• The Cable Provider screen is displayed. The cable providers which are available in your area are listed here.
4. Select your cable provider.
• The Cable Channel Lineup screen is displayed.
5. Click the select button.
• Nero LiquidTV™ will ask you how to act with unclear channels.
6. Select the way you want Nero LiquidTV™ to act.
• The Review Cable Lineups screen is displayed.
7. Click the select button.
• The Cable Lineup screen is displayed.
8. Select No if this is not your lineup.
• The Premium Channels screen is displayed.
9. Select No if you don't want to receive premium channels.
• The Cable Box Brand screen is displayed.
10. Select the brand of your cable box.
• The Confirm IR Hookup screen is displayed.
11. If you require help with the correct connection of your IR transceiver and the IR cable, use the Help me make sure the IR cable is hooked up button.
• The IR Cable into Computer screen is displayed and shows you how to connect your IR transceiver and the IR cable. Afterwards the Cable Channel Digits screen is displayed.
12. Select 005 (typical for digital cable) if this is the way you enter your cable channel digits.
• The Cable "Enter" Button screen is displayed.
13. Select No(typical) if you don't need to press the Enter button on your remote control afterwards you have changed channels.
• The Channel Changing Tests screen is displayed.
14. Select Press SELECT to continue.
15. The Begin First Test screen is displayed.
16. Select Begin the Test.
• The first test is started. The system will try to switch from channel to channel. The What Happened? screen is displayed afterwards.
17. Select The channel changed.

• You have configured Nero LiquidTV™ for your cable box.
