Exchanging media files

In this tutorial you can follow the step by step procedure for using Nero Move it to copy files to an iPod as well as for copying files from an iPod to the computer. The iPod here serves merely as an example - many other devices are also supported.

All devices that have been connected with Nero Move it at least once are displayed in the device lists. Accordingly, you can access the container and workspace for a device even if the device is not currently connected to your PC.

The following requirements have to be fulfilled:

• You have connected an iPod to your computer.

Proceed as follows to transfer media files between your computer and your iPod:

1. To copy media files from your computer to your iPod:
1. Click the device with the iPod icon in the left device list.
• The container and the workspace iPod are displayed.
2. In the container pane, choose the Music category.
• The included media files are displayed inside the workspace. Any existing subfolders are displayed in the container.
3. Click the PC icon in the right device list.
• The container and the workspace PC are displayed.
4. In the container pane, choose the Music category.
• The included media files are displayed inside the workspace. Any existing subfolders are displayed in the container.
5. Select the media files that are to be copied.
6. Click the button.
• The selected media files are copied to your iPod. Nero Move it automatically transfers the data in the format that is ideal for the target device. A window notifies you as soon as the transfer has completed successfully.
2. To switch to table view where all media files are sorted in a table with columns (according to title, date, etc.), click the button.
• In the workspace table view, all media files are displayed, sorted, in a table.
3. Double-click the media file to play it.
4. If you want to rate a file or want to change the rating for a file, click the edit box.
• The assigned stars are displayed in the workspace.
5. If you want to see the available detailed information for a file and want to store additional information:
1. Select the desired media file and click the Details button.
• The Details window opens. All known information in the display and edit boxes is displayed based on the selected file. Enter the title of the media file into the Title edit box.
2. Enter the artist of the media file in the Artist edit box.
3. Enter the album name into the Album edit box.
4. Click the OK button.
• Additions and changes are applied and the window is closed.
6. To copy media files from your iPod to your computer:
1. Highlight the media files that are to be copied.
2. Click the button.
• The selected media files are copied to your computer. Nero Move it automatically transfers the data in the format that is ideal for the target device. A window notifies you as soon as the transfer has completed successfully.

• You have successfully transferred media files between your iPod and your computer.
