How to Make a Movie
In this tutorial you can follow the step by step procedure for producing a Nero Vision movie.
The following requirement must be met:
- You have started Nero Vision.
To make a movie, proceed as follows:
- In the Start screen, select the Make Movie option.
- The Movie screen is displayed.
Media files which are available already are displayed in the upper right area - the media area. The entry displayed in the standard settings is My Media Files.
- The Movie screen is displayed.
- If you want to add media files that are stored on your PC to the movie, click on the button.
- The Open window is opened.
- Select the required files and click the Open button.
- The files are added to the media dialog box.
In the standard settings the files are displayed under the My Media Files entry.

- Select the files that you want to add to the movie and click on the button.
- Media files are inserted in the contents dialog box on the tab and displayed with a thumbnail.
- If you want to add more files to your compilation, repeat the previous step.
- The additional media files are positioned at the start of the movie in the Contents area and shown with thumbnails.
- To add a file to the end of the movie:
- Click the film strip until it is highlighted in blue.
- In the media are, select the file that you want to add to the movie and click on the button.
- The media file in the content area is positioned at the end of the movie and displayed as a thumbnail.
- To add a file to the movie at a particular point:
- Select the file in the Contents area in front of which you want to add the file.
- In the media are, select the files in the that you want to add to the movie and click on the button.
- The media file in the content area is positioned before the selected spot and displayed as a thumbnail.
- To adjust the order of individual media files in the content area, simply move them to the desired location by drag-and-drop.
- Click the button and watch the movie in the preview area.
- If you are happy with the movie, click on the Next button.
- The Contents screen is displayed.
You have made a movie.
Editing Audio Files
In this tutorial you can follow the step by step procedure for editing audio files in Nero WaveEditor.
You have the option to cut parts of an audio file, to fade in the loudness at the beginning or to fade it out at the end, and to regulate the frequency of file parts.
The following requirement has to be fulfilled:
- You have started Nero WaveEditor.
Proceed as follows to edit an audio file:
- Select File > Open from the menu.

Please note that not all formats are supported for importing/exporting. Further details can be found in the Nero WaveEditor manual. - Select an audio file that you want to edit and click the Open button.
- The audio file is imported.
- To cut parts from an audio file, select the area that you want to erase and click the icon.
- The selected area of the audio file will be erased.
- To fade in the loudness of an audio file:
- Select the part of the audio file on which the loudness should be faded in.
- Click the Loudness > Fade in > desired fade in mode on the menu.
- The loudness change of the selected audio file part is graphically displayed in the wave display.
- To fade out the loudness of the audio file:
- Select the part of the audio file which should have the loudness faded out.
- Click the Loudness > Fade out > desired fade out mode on the menu.
- The loudness change of the selected audio file part is graphically displayed in the wave display.
- To normalize the frequencies of the audio file to a specific dB value:
- Select the part of the audio file where the frequencies should be normalized.
- Click Loudness > Normalize on the menu.
- The window Normalize is displayed.
- Set the slider to the desired dB value.
- The set dB value is displayed in the display field.
- Click the OK button.
- Click File > Save As on the menu.
- Enter a file name into the input field and click the Save button.
You have edited an audio file and saved it under a new file name.
Restoring Files from Damaged Media
In this tutorial you can follow the step by step procedure for selecting files according to specific criteria and problem categories and to restore them with Nero StartSmart and Nero RescueAgent.
The following requirement has to be fulfilled:
- You have started Nero StartSmart
To restore your data, proceed as follows:
- Click the icon.
- Select Toolbox>Nero RescueAgent™.
- The Nero RescueAgent window is opened.
- Connect the desired storage medium to your computer.
- Select the storage medium (e.g.: G: USB FLASH DRIVE) from the Drive / Media to recover data from drop-down menu.
- Select the desired scan level, (e.g.: Fast scan option button).
- The fast scan only searches the FAT file system of the storage medium. The fast scan finds deleted files and older file versions. The deep scan searches the whole storage medium. With the deep scan you can find individual faulty meta-file entries, corrupted files, unreadable sectors as well as files that have been deleted and which are not visible in the FAT file system. The deep scan takes much longer than the fast scan.
- Click the Next button.

- The Fast scan in progress screen is displayed. Progress can be followed here. After completion of the search, the Files to recover screen is displayed and lists all files and folders that can be restored. As the list can be very long, it is possible to show files according to certain criteria and problem categories.
- Click the Show button.
- The Show only specific files window is opened.
- Select the check box of the desired criteria, here the All recoverable files check box.
- Click the Show button.
- The Show only specific files window is closed. The Show button receives a green tick.
- Click the Select button.
- The Select specific files window is opened.
- Enter the search term “Nero” into the All or part of a file name input field. (In the video tutorial, the search term will be shown automatically if you click on the input field.) Restoring Data 3 Restoring Data Tutorial
- Click the Select button.
- The Select specific files window is closed. The Select button receives a green tick.
- Click the button in order to define the target folder of the file to be restored.
- The Browse for folder window is opened. The folder in which the files are to be stored must not be situated on the same storage medium from which the files are to be restored.
- Select the folder in which the files are to be stored, (e.g.: Recovered files folder).
- Click the OK button.
- The Browse for folder window is closed.
- Click the Next button.
- Nero RescueAgent begins restoring the selected files. This can take some time depending on how severely the storage medium is damaged. After restoration is complete, the Restoration completed screen is displayed.
- You have successfully restored your data.
